Here I Am 6-8-2009

just wanted to quickly post a couple of things before I need to run after Adam. Here he is the little guy that has been in charge of my every move for the last nine weeks. For some reason he looks really blotchy here I'm not sure what the deal is. He loves being outside when he is not in the sun. He cries like crazy when the sun hits his face. He loves a good chat. Christopher and Timothy have been collecting bugs, and feeding them in jars. Christopher takes it very seriously. I here him talking to his bugs all the time. He thinks when they wiggle their little antennas they are talking to him. He tells them when they can play and when they should be napping. He gives them snacks all the time. Just like he thinks parents should give their kids snacks all the time. Well, I need to run. I am still trying to figure out how to do run everything on this updated site. So, if things show up all wrong bear with me. I'm still in the practise mode. Rachel Oxley Yay you did it! For that I give you 5 stars:) I loved the update...such charming little guys. Adam Richard Skrivseth 7 pounds 15 ounces April 10, 2009 Finally, here is our baby boy. We are so happy to welcome this little guy into our family. He is two weeks old today. His birth day already seems lightyears away. I have a very hard time taking pictures of a tiny baby there is just no way for me to capture how perfect and precious he is. Some Pictures that Make me Happy 3-31-2009

I was going through my pictures the other night and decided to put a few old ones up from last year. These are a few that just brought back great memories. They probably don't seem that amazing, but I thought I would share them with you anyway Hans's graduation in December. That seems like a very long time ago. A day we both looked forward to for a long time. The only thing that depresses me about that right now is it seems like so long ago. We had tons of snow that day, and guess what? We are getting tons of snow today as well. This is like Narnia always winter never Christmas. Last August. Taryn and Christopher totally and completly in love with each other. They are the best of friends. Getting into a lot of trouble together. Always looking for the perfect snack. When I found this picture. I wanted those badly. I have been looking at this picture with such longing that only a pregnant woman can understand. I would go to great lengths to procur something this divine. So, I go to Safeway and buy a package that was grown in sunny CA. I don't know how long they were on the road.The difference between those and these delicious little morsels is so vast they should not both be able to be called strawberries. These are so sweet, and so juicy and perfectly warm from the sun. Ok I'll get over the strawberries. I took the kids up to Green Bluff last year to pick these. We had so much fun. I was glad that Timothy takes after his Dad. He very diligently filled up our box without tasting any while Christopher and I ate our way down the row. This picture reminds me of the great time we had going to Missouri and surprising Rachel. This is in Branson having good coffee, and even better conversation. Finally, my goofy and crazy little boys. The same little guys that one minute can exasperate me to the point of insanity. The next minute they make me so very happy to have the privilage of being their Mommy. Timothy always making sure that Christopher is doing the right thing. Thats all for now. Jo

February 2-18-2009

Not much new happening in this household. Just felt like being a little more involved. I much prefer posting some pictures to writing, but we still don't have a camera. Hans has been going to work a lot. He still is in orientation which is full time. I'm hoping he will fill you in soon on how it's going. Still have lots of snow on the ground the boys go out sledding about everyday. I lost my mood for playing in the snow at around Christmas time. I'm glad they still like it. It gets them outside to burn off some pent up energy. Been doing school with Timothy every morning, and I think things are finally starting to connect up there. It is just getting easier for him. He is reading really good already. Of course this is his Mother speaking. It may not be good at all. Hans has a hard time not going into hysterics when Timothy reads to him. He gets really loud when he's sounding out a word, and sounds like Dorie trying to speak whale. Christopher can be a bit of a problem when we are doing school. He wants to do "lessons" too except that his "lessons" don't last long at all. Then he starts hauling toys in, and setting his super heroes up everywhere. Making Timothy think that looks like a lot more fun than trying to learn a new sound. As happy as I am that Hans has a job. This is the time of year I would just love to not be tied down. I have planned a hundred trips in my mind the last few weeks. Phoenix, Seattle, Mexico, Orlando, New York. Honestly I'd be happy with a trip to Reno right now. It looks like I will be in the planning stage only for any of these trips. Nothing like that coming our way. I am trying to become more of a domestic goddess that loves to stay home, and improve upon the lives of her children and home. I have been checking out Martha Stewart's craft of the day, Pottery Barns perfect rooms, Pioneer Women's delicious and simple meals, . While I am going to these inspiring sights I am distracted by an ad that says "click here for a free trip for four to Hawaii." Sounds much more promising than trying to make your own peg board or some such nonsense. Well, as you can see winter is getting long. I am rambling on about nothing. Hey, when you said Reno you were thinking of something like going to a Cabela's there, right? Guess what? Marcus and I played Aquire after that last week-end we were there and the guys played 2 games that night. Anywaze, he taught me how and he won the first two games, then we played 2 more games and I was thrilled to beat him both times!!! It's probably not as challenging with 2 players though, so if I played with a group I would be the one broke and waiting for a company to merge. Ya still thinkin' about all us couples...all sounds like a big quantity when I'm speakin' of 4 couples ;-)....gettin' together and having a fun evening without any kiddos? Let us know when you know. Happy New Year 1-10-2009

Well,here it is the first week of January has come and gone. Hope everyone had a very merry Christmas. We had such a good time. The kids were so excited about Christmas this year. It was fun having our own house to decorate. I thought I would rip all that stuff down and clean my house properly right after New Years, but that has not happened. I decided since I'm pregnant I don't have to make any resolutions this year. I'm not going to get all ambitious and become organized. I am not going to lose any weight in fact I'm going to continue to gain for a couple of months. I am not even going to exercise. Wow that felt very liberating. I'll face the music soon this summer when I can't hide behind my big wool coat anymore. Come to think of it the last time I tried to button that big wool coat it didn't work. I guess I'll have to get something a little larger to hide behind. Hans took his state boards on Wednesday and now it is official. He is a nurse. We are very excited about him getting a good job after being a college student for so many years. I wish I could see him at work, but I know he's going to be a great nurse. I don't think he quite knows what to do with himself now that he doesn't have to study every night. Everybody knows about all the snow we have been having. Thanks to Bob's descriptive updates.:) I honestly loved having a tons of snow over Christmas time. It's beautiful and just makes Christmas more magical. Truth be told I'm sick of it now. I can't do much in it when I'm pregnant except totally freak out when the roads are icy which is all the time. That has kept me in the house way more than I am used to. No quick runs down to Spokane or Bonners I even think twice before going into Newport. Needless to say I am getting a severe case of cabin fever. We are all very anxious for our little baby to arrive. It seems like a long time since we have had a baby in the house. I cannot wait. Hope I didn't bore you with my endless rambling.I'm trying to avoid my stack of dirty dishes and my endless pile of unfolded laundry. Not to mention a very naughty little puppy making some chewing noises in the kitchen. Sorry still no pictures. Hopefully we can get a camera soon. Have a lovely day. Jo

Hey, we've finally moved all the stuff out of our apartment and we're living in a HOUSE in Newport, so I thought I would try an update or two. I caught myself yelling at the kids a couple of times after we moved until I realized that they can jump on the floor as much as they want because there's nobody living under us anymore. I would post some pictures of our new place and life in general, but JoAnna's camera quit working. I think it got sand in it during a moment of panic on the beach this fall when our little Toyota car was stuck in the sand with the tide rapidly approaching. Other than fixing things that don't work in our house, I've pretty much just been counting down the days until I graduate from the RN program. Thirty-three more to be exact. A couple of my buddies and I are already planning a ceremony to burn our ridiculous navy blue school scrubs and white shoes (Smurf costumes) that we are forced to wear every time we set foot in a hospital. It's been great, and I've definitely learned a lot, but I'm ready to move on. Anyhoo, as soon as we get a camera we'll post some pictures. -Hans

Christopher's Birthday 9-8-2008

Saturday little Christopher turned three. A big, much anticipated day for him. This was his first real birthday party. He was so overwhelmed that all these presents, cake and attention was all in honor of him. Judy found him the SUPERHERO shirt at a garage sale. He loves, and adores that kind of stuff. Needless to say he was in his glory. Kari got him a knight in shining armour set. Perfect for him since he is always out to find "the bad guys" he cannot wear this costume without lowering his voice a few octaves and sounding really tough. What could be better? Cake. Friends. Presents. .... Maybe having everyone singing Happy Birthday to you. That song just topped off his night. Like we were officially turning him into a big boy. His Mom didn't get overly creative with the cake. We are so blessed to have this wild, crazy little guy in our family. We love him so much and he never fails to add some spice to our day. Believe me he is not an angel, but a sweetheart just the same. Rachel Oxley Happy Birthday Christopher!
