Wow, it has been a long time since we have last updated. To think that I thought spring was here the begining of March. Here it is the middle of May and we just had our first picnic in the park. Last night we took the kids to Manito Park. This is just a gorgeous park with lots of gardens and trees and little ponds. I love picnics, but there is one huge setback. Gigantic seagulls, ducks, geese, and crows that look like a small labrador. I love watching these fersome creatures from a distance, but it seems that city birds have not learned that they should stay away from humans, because humans may shoot and eat them. They surround you while you eat and wait for you to drop a crumb, and then they dive in cawing so as to attract the other 150 that are wondering around the grounds. Needless to say I was on the verge of hysteria. Lucky for me (and even more lucky for my husband) the boys did their best to chase these winged creatures away. So, we came out of the park unscathed.
I had to take a picture of my 1950's picnic basket. That I got at a thrift store this spring. I just love it.
We walked through the lilac gardens. Tons of huge and beautiful lilacs, there is nothing quite so welcome as the first lilacs. The lilacs are late this year so I think they will be a lot nicer in a couple of weeks.
